Don Mills is Assistant Quality Manager for ABB’s Power Transformer Business Area, which is responsible for thirty factories world wide . His main objectives have been the development and maintenance of a common quality control system, which supports Six Sigma measurements, for all ABB Power Transformer plants; the development of a common quality management system; supporting Kjell Magnusson in driving the Six Sigma programme within the business area; and project management of business improvement projects arising from quality information and data. As well as an Engineering degree, he holds a Master of Business Administration. He received Black Belt training from Dr. Mikel Harry, formerly of Motorola and co-founder of the Six Sigma Academy, whilst Product Manager for Distribution Transformers at ABB’s Transformer Division at Dundee, UK. Later as Business Transformation Manager within the Power Transformer Division at the same plant, in addition to other change management roles, he was appointed coach of the Black Belts and project leader for Six Sigma. He is a Master Black Belt and teaches Six Sigma to Black Belt trainees within ABB’s Power Technology Division.
